Umina Community Group provides a united residents voice to lobby Central Coast Council to improve the overall conditions of the roads servicing the community of Umina Beach.
The community see the continued move towards a pedestrian based zone or limited traffic in West Street as key to growing our community, whilst keeping its village feel.
Umina Community Group and the residents of Umina Beach support the majority of Central Coast Council’s Umina Beach Transport Management Strategy. Essential to that strategy is to install traffic control lights at the Wellington Street intersection with Ocean Beach Road where a roundabout is currently in use. The purpose of the lights is to encourage through traffic away from West Street, which at times grinds to a standstill with long lines of traffic hindered by the pedestrian crossing in West Street, near South Street, backed up past the Ocean Beach Hotel at Trafalgar Avenue and beyond.
