Dune Protection Funding

Umina Beach Sand Dunes are a vital part of our local community, providing the informal natural look of our beach, protecting our homes and streets from storms, and home for local coastal plant species and animals.

It is tremendous to see state government funding to Gosford City Council’s Bushcare programs to complete protective and improvement work along Umina and Ocean Beach.

Beaches are best in the state

A new voice for Umina Beach

In October 2014 a group of Umina Beach residents decided there was no unified voice for the local community. Umina Beach is a large, modern coastal community with a strong sense of community, many visitors and tourists, and is surrounded by national parks and Ocean and Umina Beach.

The residents have formed a community group to build partnerships and work with local, state and federal government bodies to support and further the wants and needs of the community.

Leopard on the Sand

Umina Beach is visited everyday by the local fauna, but sometimes there is some extraordinary visitors. This video was shot the day a Leopard Seal decided to go sun baking on the beach.
